New Single Malt Arrival Silken Daydream – Scotch Whisky News

Introducing The Latest Online Winter Exclusive: Silken Daydream

Silken Daydream has been aged for 13 years in a Hogshead cask from Highland distillery, Teaninich. Only 81 bottles available. As the name Silken Daydream suggests, it’s an unbelievably smooth malt, with swathes of sweet toffee and caramel, with an elegantly long creamy finish.

Nose: An initial nose of freshly milled barley, clotted cream, toffee and honey. The suggestions of oak appear as coconut, custard creams and butterscotch.

Palate: A nice, creamy medium bodied palate with soft vanilla and toffee flavours. Pears dipped in honey and rich Chantilly cream.

Finish: The finish is clean, cooling and has hints of toffee like a butterscotch flavoured ice cream.

Each purchase comes with a beautiful gift box, making it the perfect gift for you or someone special. This product is only available to our UK customers at this time. Shipment and availability to the EU will be communicated soon.

BOWMORE TRIO LEAD BONHAMS FINE WHISKY SALE IN PARIS – Whisky Sale News

BOWMORE TRIO LEAD BONHAMS FINE WHISKY AND SPIRITS SALE IN PARIS

View Catalogue

Paris –Three exceptional bottles of Bowmore lead Bonhams Cornette de Saint Cyr’s Fine Whisky et Spiritueux d’Exception sale in Paris on Tuesday 6 December 2022. They include a bottle of Bowmore-35 year old-1964 estimated at €16,000-20,000.

Bowmore-35 year old-1964 was released for the UK wine and spirit merchant Oddbins in the year 2000. It is one of only 99 bottles of the legendary sherried vintage 1964 from Bowmore distillery and comes from the same batch of casks as the iconic Black Bowmore series. The trio is completed by a bottle of Bowmore-1956 estimated at €8,000-10,000 and a bottle of Bowmore-1964 estimated at €7,000-9,000. Both bottles were imported by P. Soffiantino & C. S.p.A. and come in their original presentation cases.

The sale, which consists of 227 lots, also offers:

  • A bottle of Aberfeldy the Gold of Pitilie-28 year old-1985. One of the oldest and rarest malts to be released by Aberfeldy, it is named after the stream from which the distillery draws its water. The Pitilie Burn is also known for its alluvial deposits of Scottish gold. Encased in an ornately cast 22-carat gold collar, this extraordinary bottle is just one of 10 ever released (two of which have been retained by the distillery), and even contains flakes of Scottish gold in the stopper. Estimate: €15,000-20,000.
  • A bottle of Hanyu Ichiro’s Malt-2 of Spades. Distilled at Hanyu Distillery in 1991 and bottled in 2011 it was imported to the UK by The Number One Drinks Company Ltd. One of the legendary Malt Cards Series, it is estimated at €13,000-20,000.
  • A bottled of Karuizawa Single Cask-1975.  Distilled by Karuizawa Distillery and bottled on 14 June 2010, it was imported to France by La Maison Du Whisky. Estimate: €16,000-20,000.

Diego Lanza, Bonhams Senior Whisky Specialist, said: “We are fortunate to be offering some very special and sought-after bottles in this sale. The 35 year old 1964 is an extremely rare Bowmore – undoubtedly one of their very best. The Aberfeldy the Gold of Pitilie-28 year old-1985 is very scarce and hardly ever comes onto the open market. Only eight bottles of the ten produced were released for sale and we are offering number 1.”

Bushmills 2000 Ruby Port Cask The Causeway Collection Description

This single malt is a Bushmills 2000 Port Cask single malt whiskey. This dram had a hefty 20-year-long slumber in Portuguese first fill ruby port wine casks. Undergoing a classic triple distillation in November 2000, this was then bottled in 2021 at a cask strength 54.1% abv. It is also from chill filtration and artificial colouring. The Causeway Collection is a celebration of Bushmills rarest and most special casks, gaining inspiration from the Giant’s Causeway that is just down the road from the Old Bushmills Distillery. And this dram is just as grand as you would expect.

The nose is full of juicy raspberry, plums, and dry grapefruit. More red fruits are present on the palate, with strawberry headlining next to caramelised toffee, chilli, and allspice. The finish is sweet, spicy, and lingers delightfully.

SCAPA 2003 19 YEAR OLD

“Lovely, just lovely. I’ve been a huge fan of Scapa ever since trying one of the mid-teens bottlings 10 years ago, and also love when Ballantines produced their heightened Scapa-based expressions. But this is beyond belief. Lovely Scapa minerality and tart apple nose, and so so well balanced.”
