Mark’s Whisky Ramblings 428: Isle of Islay 10 Year Old 2007 Creative Whisky Company

Mark Dermul, Belgian whisky blogger, tries an incognito Lagavulin. The Creative Whisky Company was founded by David Stirk,  raised and then… Sold. Yes, that’s how it often goes. This is still a cask that Stirk bought, but at the time of bottling he was no longer the owner. This Isle of Islay is indeed Lagavulin – no secret is made of it  – and was bottled for the online shop The Whisky Barrel. The cask yielded 285 bottles at 100 Proof or 57.1% ABV. Nice and pale, which suggests that this is spirit-driven.
