Evan Williams Bourbon Experience Releases Annual Limited Edition Kentucky Derby Festival Bourbon Bottle

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – As an official sponsor of the Kentucky Derby Festival for the fourth consecutive year, the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience today released a special edition bottle of Evan Williams Single Barrel Bourbon with a commemorative 2020 Gold Pegasus Pin sealed in wax on the neck. The 2012 Vintage, 113 proof Bourbon is dipped in emerald green wax and features the 2020 Gold Pegasus Pin on the bottle neck

Dipped in a unique emerald green wax, the bottle features a special face label with the gold and green Kentucky Derby Festival logo and includes an official 2020 Pegasus Pin in an envelope attached to each bottle. Evan Williams Bourbon Experience Artisanal Distiller, Jodie Filiatreau, and Kentucky Derby Festival President and CEO, Matt Gibson, unveiled the official 2020 pin and limited-edition bottle at the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience by personally hand-dipping two of the 600 limited-edition bottles.

This product will be available for purchase at the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience for $74.99 and at select area retailers while supplies last. The limited edition 2012 vintage is bottled at 113 proof, commemorating both the 65th Kentucky Derby Festival plus the 48th Pegasus Pin anniversary. Each bottle of Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage Bourbon contains the exact day it was put in an oak barrel to age, the barrel number, and the date it was bottled.

The Bourbon is matured in natural open-rick warehouses under the careful supervision of Heaven Hill’s Master Distiller, who monitors the progress of each year’s vintage to ensure it maintains its intended flavor profile and superb quality. Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage has won five “Whiskey of the Year” awards and is one of the most critically-acclaimed specialty Bourbons produced by Heaven Hill Distillery, the world’s second largest holder of aging Bourbon.

“The Evan Williams Bourbon Experience is proud to partner yet again with the Kentucky Derby Festival to share the unique Kentucky spirit that makes this time of year so exciting in the Bluegrass State,” said Evan Williams Bourbon Experience Artisanal Distiller Jodie Filiatreau. “Join us as we raise a toast to Kentucky’s heritage and usher in the 2020 Kentucky Derby.”

Bringing the community together since 1956, the Kentucky Derby Festival has grown to become a whirlwind of more than 70 special events leading up to the big race in May. The Kentucky Derby Festival runs this year from April 16 – May 1. Pegasus Pins, which allow entry to many Derby Festival events, may be purchased exclusively at the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience through March 1st, prior to being available at other local retailers.

“This partnership with Evan Williams showcases two of Kentucky’s favorite things – the Derby Festival and bourbon,” said Matt Gibson, Kentucky Derby Festival President and CEO. “Just like the Pegasus Pins, we know fans will want to add this special edition bottle to their collection too.”

Terroir-driven whisky producer, Waterford Distillery, has announced its hugely anticipated inaugural release – the first whisky since it began distillation following conversion from a Guinness brewery in 2015.

1ST CUVÉE: PILGRIMAGE is highly limited and will be available only at a distillery open day on Saturday 25th April. Tickets to the event are being sold via Eventbrite. THE OPEN DAY

The open day is to celebrate Waterford Whisky’s coming of age, their Irish Single Malt Whisky’s debut, and they wanted to open their gates on Saturday 25th April to those curious to see what the distillery has been up to these last five years.

To provide a festival atmosphere, irrespective of the weather, the distillery has invited local food suppliers, brewers and musicians – and Waterford Whisky will also be available to taste for the first time.

1ST CUVÉE: PILGRIMAGE

There are 1,500 numbered bottles of 1ST CUVÉE: PILGRIMAGE bottled at 50% ABV.

Only 1,000 of these are labelled “I Was There” and will be available to the public, strictly limited to one per individual.

To mark this historic moment, the launch of Waterford Whisky, a limited edition commemorative bottling has been created by Head Distiller Ned Gahan. For 1ST CUVÉE: PILGRIMAGE Ned has brought together each of the 36 farms that Waterford distilled in their first year, each one location, captured in spirit, a unique Waterford distillate. A walk through and brief history of two of the more obscure distilleries in Japan. Kirin/Fuji-Gotemba, opening in 1972 and still producing today – their offering is a 50% blended whisky made from stock all of their own. Mars Shinshu on the other hand, this is a 52%, peated Japanese whisky with a troublesome history. Based on the flavours though, the future is bright. The future is Mars…but it’ll cost you.

Bimber announces the release of distillery exclusives – English Whisky News

Bimber announces the release of distillery exclusives

Four limited edition releases will be available for visitors to purchase at the distillery from Thursday 20th February

Three single cask expressions: Sherry Cask, Virgin Cask and Peated Finish will be joined by a small batch release of the distillery’s new make spirit

Bimber, which was recently named ‘Craft Producer of the Year’ at the 2020 World Whisky Awards, today announced the release of its first distillery exclusive bottlings.

Three single cask expressions all bottled with natural colour and no chill-filtration will be available from Thursday 20th February for visitors to the distillery to purchase, alongside bottles of ‘filling strength’ new make spirit.

Sherry Cask #34 was laid down in 2016, Bimber’s first year of production and is bottled at 53.9% ABV. 65 bottles are available at a price of £80.00.

Virgin Cask #28, also from 2016, has been matured in American oak and is bottled at 53.1% ABV. 70 bottles are available at a price of £75.00.

Peated Finish #64PF is Bimber’s first ‘finished’ whisky release. Following an initial maturation in ex-bourbon the liquid was transferred to an ex-Islay quarter cask for one year of additional maturation and then bottled at 54.2% ABV. 100 bottles are available at a price of £75.00.

New Make Batch 172 has been produced to meet the high levels of interest from enthusiasts for exploring Bimber’s light and fruity spirit character before it begins its maturation journey. 100 bottles of this initial batch have been produced. They are bottled at ‘filling strength’ 63.5% ABV and are available at a price of £38.00.

Each of the distillery exclusive expressions were crafted to Bimber’s exacting standards. The spirit was produced from the distillery’s single farm barley and malted on a dedicated floor at Warminster Maltings before being fermented for seven days in bespoke, on-site constructed American oak washbacks. Distillation took place in Bimber’s customised stills, which possess an increased copper surface area, resulting in a light and fruity, but layered new make spirit.

Speaking of the distillery exclusive releases, Founder and Master Distillery Darius said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer visitors to Bimber three truly special single casks bottlings to take home after finishing their tours of our distillery. These casks were selected by the team because of their reflection of our naturally fruit-forward style, but also as a demonstration of the remarkable versatility of our single malt whisky. Whilst the three casks offer a diverse array of aromas and flavours, Bimber’s spirit character runs strongly throughout each release.”

He added: “Throughout 2019 we received many requests to bottle our new make spirit. We’re therefore thrilled to now offer distillery visitors a spotlight on our house style before our spirit has been laid down for maturation.”
