375 Park Avenue Spirits and International Beverage Holdings LTD Part Ways – Whisky News

375 PARK AVENUE SPIRITS AND INTERNATIONAL BEVERAGE HOLDINGS LTD PART WAYS

LOUISVILLE, KY (April 29, 2020) — 375 Park Avenue Spirits which specializes in importing superior spirits brands from across the globe, and International Beverage Holdings LTD, one of the industry’s most dynamic global drinks businesses are announcing they will be parting ways.

375 Park Avenue Spirits began working with International Beverage Holdings LTD in August 2015 shortly after joining Sazerac as an independent, yet fully integrated sales company. Many collective successes were achieved over the last 4+ years but both companies have continued to evolve and after careful consideration both International Beverage Holdings LTD, and 375 Park Avenue Spirits decided that a parting of ways would be best for both sides to achieve the growth aspirations each has in the U.S. market.

With this departure, 375 Park Avenue Spirits will no longer represent the International Beverage Holdings Ltd. spirit portfolio, including its Inver House Distillers subsidiary responsible for single malt whiskies Speyburn, Old Pulteney, Balblair, and anCnoc as well as Hankey Bannister blended Scotch, Caorunn Gin, Phraya Rum and Mekhong.

This transition is underway and is expected to be finalized by June 1.

The Self Isolation Festival – Scotch Whisky News

How time flies; it is now the beginning of May and “The Self Isolation Festival” is less than four weeks away so we thought that we would take this opportunity to give you the latest update on our progress.

Firstly, we are surprised by the interest shown by the whisky industry, you can see this by the strength of those who are supporting us on the day. There have been one or two changes, as you would expect, due to the current difficult time that we are going through and we also had to find a replacement for Whisky Auctioneer due to unforeseen circumstances.  However, they are behind us and still providing their support to the day.

The full day’s programme of Whisky Masterclasses will now be as follows:

  • Starward Distillery from Melbourne, Australia
  • Dewar’s of Aberfeldy
  • Tullibardine Distillery
  • Lindores Abbey Distillery
  • The GlenAllachie
  • Buffalo Trace from Kentucky, USA
  • Robertson’s Private Collection

The masterclasses will be interspersed with music from three local musicians, mixology sessions, a talk from Blair Bowman – whisky consultant and author, a whisky quiz and a prize draw.

Tickets are now on sale and have now been purchased in several countries globally.

As planned, we will be giving £5 from every tasting kit bought to the NHS Emergency Fund, along with monies raised by the auction and a Just Giving page that we are setting up for the event.

We are now offering the opportunity to pick and mix your drams for the day, please see the web site for details.

To register or purchase tasting kits please go to:   www.robertsonsofpitlochry.co.uk

To ensure that the tasting kits arrive in time for the event we will be having two cut off dates for purchasing:

International 15th May 2020

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Lively and vibrant, this Balvenie has notes of fig and geranium oil perfectly balanced with fresh herbal undertones reminiscent of green woodland.
Taste: Flavours of honey, cloves and caramelised baked dates are layered on top of delicate citrus and spice. The sweetness reveals an underlying oaky dryness.
Finish: Lingering, oaky, dried blossom.

Diageo pledges more than eight million bottles of sanitiser for frontline healthcare workers

Diageo pledges more than eight million bottles of sanitiser for frontline healthcare workers

  • World’s largest distiller in unprecedented global response in the UK, Ireland, Italy, the USA, Brazil, Kenya, India and Australia
  • Pledge aimed at overcoming shortages to protect frontline healthcare workers
  • Donation of alcohol is enough to produce more than eight million bottles of hand sanitiser

23 March 2020: Diageo, maker of Johnnie Walker has today pledged to enable the creation of more than eight million bottles of hand sanitiser, by donating up to two million litres of alcohol to manufacturing partners, to help protect frontline healthcare workers in the fight against COVID-19.

The world’s leading distiller will provide Grain Neutral Spirit (GNS) – a 96% strength ethyl alcohol used primarily in production of vodka and gin – and make it available at no cost to hand sanitiser producers in multiple countries, to help overcome shortages in healthcare systems. This donation will enable the production of more than eight million 250ml bottles of hand sanitiser.

Diageo continues to engage with national and local governments across the many countries where the company has major distilling operations. The spirit will be made available in supply chains according to local circumstances, working with the relevant authorities and hand sanitiser manufacturers. This will ensure the donation is used for maximum impact in protecting health workers and patients and that sanitiser reaches the frontline as quickly as possible.

The plan includes:

  • The UK and the Republic of Ireland: 500,000 litres of GNS to be made available for national healthcare systems and workers across the UK and Ireland.
  • Italy: 100,000 litres of GNS to support the healthcare system and other national needs
  • USA: 500,000 litres of GNS to be supplied to meet local community needs
  • Brazil: Diageo’s Ypioca plant will produce 50,000 litres of spirit for the local healthcare system, in conjunction with the Ceara State Government.
  • Kenya: Diageo’s East Africa Breweries Ltd will enable production of 135,000 litres of sanitiser, prioritising vulnerable and at risk groups.
  • India: 500,000 litres of alcohol to supply to the sanitizer industry across 25 States, for use in national healthcare systems and for consumers.
  • Australia: Diageo’s Bundaberg Distilling Co. to produce 100,000 litres of ethanol for the Queensland Government, to be forwarded to hand sanitiser manufacturers.

“Healthcare workers are at the forefront of fighting this pandemic and we are determined to do what we can to help protect them,” said Ivan Menezes, Chief Executive of Diageo. This is the quickest and most effective way for us to meet the surging demand for hand sanitiser around the world.”
