A beautiful honey rich 8 YO Glen Elgin. For a modest maturation we think this whisky has gained superb colour and character. This probably has something to do with the Re-Charred Hogshead that it was aged in. Re-Charred casks (which bourbon whisky has to be filled into) provides strong honey and caramel flavours throughout the maturation process. The overall profile of this 8 year old Glen Elgin definitely shows evidence of this but it is also nicely balanced with banana fruit and cereals.
