At the turn of the 20th century Campbeltown was a thriving malt whisky region of no fewer than 34 distilleries, and highly prized for its distinctive whisky character. Today, just three distilleries remain and our next tasting will focus on one that, since its 2004 resurrection, has caught the attention of whisky drinkers around the world – Glengyle, maker of Kilkerran single malt whisky.

Having worked for Glengyle owner J&A Mitchell for more than 10 years and played a key role in every new release, it’s safe to say that nobody knows Campbeltown whisky more than our host Ranald Watson. This is a special occasion to meet and share a dram with someone who has first-hand experience of the peaks and troughs of Scotland’s cult whisky region.
