Macallan 50 Years Old 1949 – Millennium Decanter

Distilled on the 14th January 1949 in Spanish Oak Sherry Casks, this is an incredibly well aged Macallan which has attained near legendary status. Bottled for the Millennium celebrations; the highly coveted Whisky was decanted into a specially commissioned Caithness glass decanter, complete in an oak presentation box. It features a copper ingot stopper cast from No. 9 spirit still from the Macallan distillery. This example even comes with an uncompleted form to have a personalised Macallan Millennium key made as well as the original key provided with the set.

Naturally with copper there may be a slight tarnishing to the metal of the stopper but should polish out.
The whisky itself is an incredibly scarce 50 year old malt which is highly rated by Jim Murray, author of the whisky bible and the late whisky connoisseur and author Michael Jackson.

This is a fabulous Lot, and one which we’d love to keep ourselves! The lucky new owner will become the keeper of what is quite simply one of the most sought after bottles in the world.

Bowmore 1955 – 1974 Visitor Centre Opening Ceramic Decanter

From the legendary Bowmore distillery of Islay a truly rare gem. Specially bottled for the opening of the distillery’s visitor centre on September 12th 1974. This vintage ceramic flagon was mainly handed out to staff to celebrate the opening, most of which decided to open but lucky for us we have here one of the few remaining unopened bottles. We are led to believe it is 37.5cl size flagon but no size is stated.

Bowmore 42 Years Old 1964 – Black Bowmore

Distilled on 5th November 1964, this first instalment of the Bowmore 1964 Trilogy was carefully filled into Oloroso sherry casks where it spent the next four decades and more perfecting its

On the 5th of November 1964 The Bowmore Spirit was filled into Five Oloroso Sherry Casks and left to quietly mature in the deep, dark Bowmore vaults. After forty-two years, the casks produced only 827 bottle of this extremely rare malt whisky.

The result is a stunning aroma and palate, and the rich, deep, dark, almost ebony colour reflected in its name.

This release of Black Bowmore has had whisky reviewers heads in a spin about how good it is. Not many bottles can be described as Legendary, but fortunately, this is one of them.

Wyoming Whiskey is Set to Release its Elusive Barrel Strength Bourbon – American Whisky News

WW2018

Wyoming Whiskey is Set to Release its Elusive Barrel Strength Bourbon

KIRBY, WY (December  10, 2018)— Wyoming Whiskey is slowly releasing its second-ever batch of Barrel Strength Bourbon on beginning in Wyoming on December 17.  Only 50 bottles of this very rare bourbon will be made available in select markets.  As bourbon enthusiasts may recall, the last release of Wyoming Whiskey Barrel Strength sold out before it even hit shelves in November of 2015 and was named one of the top ten whiskies in the World by Whisky Advocate in the Spring of 2016.

Retailing for $199 in a minimalist bottle with enamel labeling, this iteration of Barrel Strength Bourbon comes from barrel #3242 and was selected for its excellence by Wyoming Whiskey Distiller Sam Mead, with the support of industry specialist Nancy Fraley. It is bottled at 124.7 proof and offers a profile that matches, if not surpasses, previous Barrel Strength selections.

“The bar was set very high after receiving 97 points from Mark Gillespie at Whisky Cast and a ‘Liquid Gold’ award in Jim Murray’s Whiskey Bible,” said Wyoming Whiskey Founder David DeFazio.  “But when we found #3242, we knew we had something exceptional.”

DODGER WHISKY COLLECTIVE LAUNCHED NEW INDEPENDENT BOTTLER – Scotch Whisky News

Woolf

ARTFUL DODGER WHISKY COLLECTIVE LAUNCHED NEW INDEPENDENT BOTTLER

Fine wine and spirits merchant Woolf Sung Ltd are proud to announce the launch of the Artful Dodger Whisky Collective; a range of independently bottled, single malt Scotch whisky.

The Artful Dodger declare they are:

“A collective of professional whisky thieves, dedicated to liberating the world’s finest casks, freeing them from the lips of the few and releasing to the appreciative. The rarest, most special whiskies do not belong in a dusty distiller’s secret vault, locked away from the deserving. We are sworn to save them, one cask at a time, and deliver to a select group of like-minded, ethically-challenged individuals.”

The first batch of releases are as follows:

Clynelish 20 Year Old – distilled in 1997 and matured in an ex-bourbon hogshead, bottled at 55.9%abv with an RRP of £119.95. The Clynelish won a silver medal at the Spirits Masters 2018 and was awarded 90 points from Serge Valentin at Whisky Fun.

Strathclyde 27 Year Old – distilled in 1990 and matured in an ex-bourbon barrel, bottled at 51.8%abv with an RRP of £81.95.

Glenturret 23 Year Old – distilled in1994 and matured in an ex-Pedro Ximinez octave, bottled at 50.7%abv with an RRP of £94.95. The Glenturret won a gold medal at the Spirits Masters 2018.

Port Charlotte 8 Year Old – distilled in 2009 and matured in an ex-Sauternes cask, bottled at 64.2%abv with an RRP of £64.95.

Bimber London New Make Spirit – made from 100% English barley and bottled at 63.5%abv with an RRP of £44.95.

Each release is bottled in 50cl apothecary bottles with conical cork stoppers and a torn label design. The gift box is made entirely from black foam with gold typography. The foam perfectly protects the bottle when in transit whilst retaining a striking presence on the shelf. The whisky has been left at natural cask-strength and has not been chill-filtered or had any artificial colouring added to it. The Artful Dodger Whisky Collective is available from select retailers.

W O O L F / S U N G Ltd was established in 2012 with the aim to source the very finest wine for their international client base. Notably acquiring the agency for the world’s most expensive Champagne, Boërl & Kroff. This has included gaining the agency for several American whiskey
