Is age just a number?

Is a whisky no good without an age, or is it flavour that’s the most important indication of quality? The debate continues to rage in the whisky world, but one thing we know for certain is that there are some fantastic aged whiskies available at The Whisky Shop.

As well as being fantastic drams that have spent around two decades or more taking on their rich flavours and aromas, these aged whiskies are the perfect for birthdays and anniversaries.

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES! TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES! Taken over Speyside, turtle power!

Look at that f*****g box colour! I’ve never seen a green so alluring and honestly, quite nice. It off sets the colour of this wonderful whisky, perfectly! Straight off the bat, yes, it’s a bit expensive for what it is but, I split it with a friend and it was great for £40 – would I buy it again…yes, probably. Textually one of the finest whiskies I’ve tried this year and has a flavour profile that I can only boil down as, Macallan but different? It’s got a hit of sherry but it’s not as sweet as what I remember Macallan to be. Dark chocolate, coffee, toasted nuts and a bit of cherry as well. The closest we’ll get to the infamous No.2 so far, but not quite. A stand out effort for both flavour and design though. Happy new distillery, Macallan. Please make more whisky like this?
