Exclusive Loch Lomond Inchmurrin Single Cask lands in World of Whiskies at Heathrow Terminal 5 – Scotch Whisky News
Exclusive Loch Lomond Inchmurrin Single Cask lands in World of Whiskies at Heathrow Terminal 5
Loch Lomond Whiskies has created an exclusive Loch Lomond Inchmurrin Single Cask bottling in partnership with World Duty Free. Just 278 bottles of the 10-year-old Loch Lomond Inchmurrin Single Cask will be available exclusively at World Duty Free’s World of Whiskies store, located in Heathrow’s Terminal 5.
On the nose, the Loch Lomond Inchmurrin Single Cask is fruity and sweet with a hint of spice. The palate offers layers of sweet vanilla and barley sugar, while the lemon and lime finish delivers a citrus edge, giving way to maple syrup and a mild oak spiciness.
This non-chill filtered Single Malt Scotch Whisky was distilled in the Loch Lomond Distillery’s unique straight neck pot stills in January 2008 and bottled at cask strength – 57.1% ABV – in February 2018.
Loch Lomond Whiskies’ partnership with World Duty Free – who own and operate the specialist World of Whiskies stores – and Heathrow, follows on from successful sales of Loch Lomond Group’s Global Travel Retail (GTR) Scotch whisky range at World of Whiskies outlets in airports throughout the UK.
André de Almeida, Managing Director of Global Travel Retail at Loch Lomond Group, said: “We’re delighted to have had the opportunity to create this limited edition Loch Lomond Inchmurrin Single Cask, which will be exclusive to World of Whiskies in Terminal 5. This is a great example of a trinity project between Loch Lomond Group, World Duty Free and Heathrow.”
Kathryn Kindness, Commercial Category Manager from World Duty Free, said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer this unique, limited edition Loch Lomond Inchmurrin Single Cask bottling to our World of Whiskies customers at Terminal 5. Travellers won’t be able to get their hands on this in any other location in the world, so it will be the ideal addition for their collections or to purchase as a special gift.”
Chris Annetts, Retail and Service Proposition Director, commented: “We are delighted to offer Heathrow passengers this unique and exclusive British product. Whisky is loved the world over and this additional cask adds to our fantastic range of distillations to suit every taste.”
Founded in 1814, Loch Lomond Whiskies can trace its roots back to the Littlemill distillery, which was established in 1772 and is thought to be one of the oldest in the world. Its current malt and grain distilleries, in Alexandria, Dunbartonshire on the banks of Loch Lomond, were built in the 1960s and are among only a few in the industry to maintain an onsite cooperage. The malt distillery at Alexandria also features a unique combination of traditional swan neck and distinctive straight-necked pot stills, enabling it to produce a diverse range of flavour profiles.

UNSEEN IN THREE DECADES – HOLY GRAIL OF MACALLAN RELEASED AT NEXT BONHAMS HONG KONG SALE – Scotch Whisky News
UNSEEN IN THREE DECADES – HOLY GRAIL OF MACALLAN RELEASED AT NEXT BONHAMS HONG KONG SALE
Macallan Peter Blake 1926 60 year old (left) and Macallan Valerio Adami 1926-60 year old (right) estimated at HK$3,600,000 – 4,600,000 each
Hong Kong – Bonhams presents two rare vintage Macallan bottles unseen in public since they were auctioned over three decades ago in the 1980s – the 60 Years Old 1926 (Peter Blake Label) and the 60 Years Old 1926 (Adami Label), each estimated at HK$3,600,000 – 4,600,000 (£330,000-425,000; US$460,000 – 586,000). Both will headline in the next Fine and Rare Wine and Whisky sale on 18 May 2018 in Hong Kong.
Bonhams Head of Fine Wine and Whisky in Hong Kong, Daniel Lam, said: “These bottles are incredibly rare. The exceptional calibre of the whisky combined with the wonderful artwork from two towering figures of 20th century Pop Art – Peter Blake and Valerio Adami – represent a unique marriage of excellence. Only 24 of these bottles were produced, and the sale is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for collectors to acquire the Holy Grail of Macallan.”
The whisky was bottled in 1986, and Macallan commissioned Peter Blake and Valerio Adami to design labels for very limited editions, to offer as corporate gifts to the distillery’s most valued customers. Only 24 bottles – 12 of the Blake label and 12 of the Adami – were produced. They are elegantly presented in specially commissioned cabinets or Tantaluses, based on the traditional ‘Brass and Glass’ distillery spirit safe.
Sir Peter Blake (born 1932) and Valerio Adami (born 1935) are among the most highly acclaimed 20th Century Pop artists. Blake is most popularly known for co-creating the Beatles’ album cover of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart Club band in 1967, which was voted by ‘Rolling Stone’ magazine as the number one album of all time from a list of 500. Valerio Adami is an Italian artist famous for painting bold, flat forms outlined in thick, black lines, in a style reminiscent of comic art.

Masterclasses: the more, the merrier?
May we make a suggestion based on feedback from our regular guests?
If this is your first time coming to the show, one masterclass will be plenty, leaving you with ample time to explore the tasting halls, take in some live jazz and see why everyone is queuing for the beef and Yorkshire pudding.
For those determined to attend masterclasses at both 7pm and 8:30pm, please allow enough time to check-in, collect your glass and event programme, leave your jacket at the coat check, and queue for the class itself. But please keep in mind that attending two classes leaves little time to enjoy the event itself!
Buying Multiple Tickets Online
If you are buying multiple tickets and wish to attend different masterclasses than your fellow ticketholders, please note that you will be required to build these different selections as separate packages before proceeding to the checkout to pay for the full order.
Furthermore please note that masterclasses cannot be purchased without including a ticket to Spirit of Toronto as part of your package.
