While getting to Jura may be difficult at times The Whisky Shop are making it easier, exclusively offering three of our new expressions across the UK throughout March.
Our new signature style sees sweetness from American White Oak ex-bourbon barrels combine with a hint of subtle smoke, further enhanced by specially selected casks from around Europe. Our new defining character, is the ultimate marriage of highland and island styles.
We’re confident you’ll enjoy exploring the new whiskies just as much as we’ve enjoyed crafting them – after all, while Jura may not be the easiest place to make whisky, we like to think it’s the best.
Hand-making something unforgettable takes time – around 12 years in our experience. Explore a perfect balance of sweetness, with just a whisper of smoke in a whisky that only Jura could make. Flavours: Aromas of chocolate; liquorice to taste; soft smoke to finish. Spirit Style: A smooth island malt with a subtle smoky sherry finish. Cask Finish: Matured in American White Oak ex-bourbon barrels for 12 years and finished in Oloroso Sherry casks from Jerez, Spain.
Where some see a challenge, Diurachs see opportunity. Crafted from seven-first fill American and French Oak casks, discover an ingenious and complex expression with a great depth of flavour. Flavours: TA more complex, intense flavour experience. Peach aromas, candied orange to taste and a hint of smoke. Spirit Style: A subtly smoky island malt influenced by seven different French and American Oak casks. Cask Finish: Jura Seven Wood has been shaped by seven separate Oak woods: first-fill ex-bourbon American White Oak, Vosges, Bertranges, Jupilles, Allier, Tronçais & Limousin barrels.
Casked at the turn of the century, Jura 18 combines the flavours from American White Oak ex-bourbon barrels and Premier Grand Cru Classé red wine casks for a full-bodied experience that’s well worth the wait. Flavours: Aromas of toffee; black forest fruits to taste; bitter chocolate to finish. Spirit Style: A rich island malt with refined smoky notes finished in red wine casks. Cask Finish: Matured for eighteen long years in American White Oak ex-bourbon barrels and enriched by superior Premier Grand Cru Classé Bordeaux barrels
