Caol Ila is fantastic, we’re all aware of this, but when you want something special from Caol Ila, you normally have to wait until the Special Releases or an obscure, independent bottling. Not anymore. Elements of Islay are owned by the same folks that own and operate, Port Askaig and that in itself is something truly spectacular. This Caol Ila is a cask strength vatting of some exceptionally well picked casks and it offers a beautiful flavour profile from the classic smoky and sweet all the way through to drying an spicy. A true little stunner for under £50 per bottle, what more could you want as a peat freak? Cheers!
