  • Scotch Whisky Advent Calendar

Whisky enthusiasts will love this limited edition Calendar which contains a range of 25 miniature bottles of scotch whisky as well as a glass to drink their daily dram.

The Calendar features a selection of single malts, blended malts, single grain and blended scotch whisky from a variety of independent bottlers including Wemyss Malts, Shetland Reel, The Lost Distillery Company, Secret Spirits and Single Cask Nation.

The Standard Edition costs £325 and includes a lapel pin plus a booklet featuring details on all the bottlers and with space for tasting notes on each whisky.

The Collector’s Edition costs £650 and comes in a felt-lined rosewood case as well as including a unique handmade whisky water dropper created by Angels’ Share Glass.

The Stirling firm’s co-founder and Managing Director Karen Somerville says: “Why open the doors of an advent calendar every day in December to reveal just a chocolate when you could be receiving a miniature of scotch whisky, from a top-notch independent bottler, instead?

“This is a fantastic gift for whisky lovers which adds to the festive spirit in the run up to Christmas.”

Angels’ Share Glass is the only UK stockist of the exclusive Whisky Advent Calendar which is produced by Canadian drinks company Secret Spirits.

  • Limited Edition Rosebank Whisky Angel

This beautiful limited edition angel is filled with a rare Lowland Single Malt from the former Rosebank Distillery near Falkirk, Stirlingshire.

It’s from the Rare Malts Selection which is a collection of scarce, cask strength whiskies from Scotland’s finest distilleries.

The glass Angel would make a lovely Christmas gift for a collector with just 25 of the creations available.

Each one is handmade with a sterling silver rose, a silver halo and white wings and filled with 25ml of 20-year-old Rosebank Malt. They cost £65.

  • Whisky-scented Candles, Angels and much more

Oban 18yo at K&L California – Scotch Whisky News

oban-18

Oban “Limited Edition” 18 Year Old West Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml) (Elsewhere $150)

($114.99)

91 points Whisky Advocate: “Drier, less toffee and fruit, more dried spice and oak when compared to the standard Oban 14 year old. A beautiful combination of rich, nutty toffee balanced by polished oak, salt, pepper, seaweed, distant smoke, and dried fruit. Somewhat oily in texture. Wonderful depth, too! An improvement on what is already the biggest-selling Diageo single malt scotch in the U.S. Very exciting and dynamic. (Vol. 17, #4, by John Hansell)”

K&L Notes: Always tough to find – this is a limited edition bottling for the U.S. only. As the canister states, “only so much can be made, it is never enough.”

Beam Suntory Opens First New Barrel Warehouse in Frankfort Since 1968

Frankfort, KY, November 4 – Beam Suntory will open a new barrel warehouse in Frankfort, KY today. The seven-story building is a testament not only to surging demand for bourbon globally, but Beam Suntory’s commitment to and investment in Kentucky, the heartland of its business.

“The need for this incredible new Rackhouse really underscores the global thirst for bourbon,” said David Hunter, Chief Supply Chain Officer, Beam Suntory. “I’m so proud of the team here in Frankfort, and all of our operations in Kentucky, who have been working so hard to keep up with the pace of demand for bourbon around the world.”

This new structure spans more than 275,000 square feet, and is the largest of Beam Suntory’s 112 Rackhouses in Kentucky, with room for more than 59,000 barrels, 17% more than its next-largest warehouse. It is the largest Rackhouse that can currently be built under current Kentucky state law and is Beam Suntory’s first new Rackhouse in Frankfort since 1968.

“The opening of this new barrelhouse reflects the importance of the bourbon industry and the commitment of Beam Suntory to central Kentucky,” said U.S. Rep. Andy Barr,  R-Lexington. “Each of those barrels represents good paying jobs made possible by global demand for Kentucky’s native spirit.”

Beam Suntory plans to invest more than $1 billion to make bourbon in Kentucky over the next five years, including grains, barrels, payroll and capital expenditures.

“This is a big moment for our entire campus here at Frankfort,” said Alan Mitchell, General Manager, Frankfort. “Not only will this new facility give us ample space for aging our incredible products, but its close proximity to the bottling lines will make transfer efficient.”
