Every autumn, Diageo, Scotland’s biggest whisky producer, launches a range of incredible whiskies – The Special Releases. These include rarely seen drams, as well as bottlings from cult, closed distilleries such as Port Ellen and Brora.

This year is the 200th anniversary of Lagavulin’s founding, and the distillery is celebrating in style by releasing some great whiskies. This brand-new 25-year-old bottling commemorates the work of the distillery managers who have led Lagavulin over the past 200 years. It’s fully matured in sherry casks giving it a rich and weighty backbone that’s shot through with smoke and fruit – well-aged and elegant whisky.
