Next week sees the launch of our December Outturn; a stocking-full of indulgent and extravagant casks, packaged up in ready-to-go Christmas Parcels. All tastes will be catered for on First Friday, but today’s sneak preview is about peat, peat and – yes, you guessed it – peat! This tasty trio has the kind of ‘grab you by the goulies’ peaty goodness that is sure to send our Islay lovers to a heavenly place. Honey glazed chicken breasts, smoky bacon and a Bavarian smoked beer to start with and surprisingly, nevertheless very pleasant, explosion of chilli smoke in the mouth. Diluted, slightly singed wellies appeared and the flavour on the palate had a ‘gamey’ texture.
