Macallan 1951 / 50 Year Old

Fine & Rare 

An incredible 1951 vintage release from The Macallan Distillery, bottled as part of their Fine & Rare Series. Sherry butts #1541 and #1542 were filled back on the 20th December 1951 and left to slumber in the same warehouse for 50 long years. Interestingly, the strength of the whisky was almost identical in each cask just before bottling in 2001, 49.4% and 49.9% respectively.

 632 bottles were filled at natural cask strength, 48.8% vol. 

A very rare gem indeed.
