Glenrothes 17 year Old Signatory Bottling Single Malt Scotch Whisky

This whisky has a strikingly rich amber color. The nose is rich with deep aromas of brown butter, white pepper, caramel, toffee, figs and notes of apricots. There is a suggestion of red fruits as well. Upon the first sip you have a full mouth coating texture followed by big flavors of butterscotch, apricots, and rich barrel flavors. There are notes of burnt sugar and oolong tea as well. There is some heat present from the higher alcohol however it remains drinkable. A splash of water does soften the whisky and bring out more fruit flavors, coco nibs, and dark roasted grains. The finish is very long and seamless with rich wood flavors and hints of roasted nuts.
