This month we have for you something rather special lined up for you.

What with The Whisky Show 2010, London Cocktail Week, Rum Fest and other fun things happening this month in the world of fine drinks, we felt that we had to pull out the stops in the shop too!

As we are sure a lot of you are aware, 2010 brings us to the end of our 10th year of trading online, and to celebrate this we have done some commemorative bottlings. 10 of them in fact. To celebrate 10 years, you see. So for our tasting this month, we will be going through all 10 of these magnificent expressions.

Now some of these bottlings have long since sold out and entered into the realm of legend (although we have been able to find enough for you lovely people), so this tasting is going to be a chance for you to try some whiskies that you may well never see the likes of again! Of the 10 whiskies we will be sampling on this fine evening, however, only 3 are under £100 a bottle. As a consequence, this does mean that the ticket price is a touch on the premium side at £50.00. Of course, this veritable cornucopia of marvellous malts includes a certain Japanese whisky from 1967 that now seems to exchange hands for around £800.00 a bottle, an ancient Longmorn 1969, the very highly rated Linkwood 1973 and Clynelish 37yo, and a beautiful Hakushu 1989 Sherry Cask. So we hope you agree that this is not an unreasonable ticket price.

To host this evening of many delights we have decided that to make it a true TWE tasting, our very selves will be doing the honours. This means you get the joy of us scruffy tykes regaling you with stories and anecdotes (or just waxing lyrical about how good it tastes) for the 2 hours or so that it will take to get through them all.

We would have loved to host this on the 10/10/10, but as it’s a Sunday we can’t even put the tickets on sale on that date. The tickets will therefore go on sale at the usual time of 3:00pm on Monday 4th October, and as always are sold on a first come, first served basis and limited to 2 places per booking.
