Cooley Tasting at The Whisky Exchange Vinopolis London – Irish Whiskey News

twev

Dear All,

This month, we will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day (Wednesday 17th March) in true style with a whiskey tasting evening exploring the various expressions from the Cooley Distillery, County Louth (that’s in Ireland, in case any of you were wondering). Cooley has won a number of awards over recent years including the impressive ‘European Distillery of the Year’ commendation at the prestigious International Wines and Spirits Competition.

Cooley Distillery is the smallest of the three remaining Irish Distilleries, though have the most diverse (and many would regard accomplished) range of malts, grains and blends from across the channel. The Irish channel, of course.

All of the whiskies we will be tasting at this event have won a gold medal at
one competition or another in the past 2 years.

The tasting will be presented by Distillery Manager Noel Sweeney, and will include 6 of their fantastic core range along with the highly anticipated ‘Spirit of Kilbeggan’, which was distilled in the newly refurbish Old Kilbeggan Distillery. Established in 1757, this is acknowledged as the oldest distillery in world, and was restarted in 2007 after over 50 years of closure.

Tickets will go on sale Monday 08th March, at the usual time of 3:00pm.
They will be £25 each, with a maximum of 2 tickets per person.

Other news:

Adrian from Coole Swan is coming in for Barrel tops on the 13 th and 14 th of March to help all of you who have forgotten Mother’s Day and need a last minute gift.

And next month we have a very exciting tasting with Robbie Hughes from Glengoyne, so look out for the next newsletter.
