The Oak Barrel in Sydney is Hosting A Sullivans Cove Whisky & Cheese Tasting – Whisky News

We wanted to let you know that this month the Oak Barrel is hosting an exclusive whisky and cheese matching night with Sullivans Cove. The uniquely cured cheeses from Sullivans Cove compliment the whiskies that are regarded as one of Australia’s finest exports. Sullivans Cove whisky has been rated 90+ in Jim Murray’s annual World Whisky Bible and produce over 250 barrels of whisky a year.
Tasmanian Providore Single Malt Whisky Cheddar is a “new to the world” product innovation. Firstly the Cheddar is matured for a minimum of 9 months. It is a deep yellow colour with a firm closed texture. The cheese is handmade – quite uncommon in this day and age of mass produced cheddars. Once mature it is infused with 8 Yr old Tasmanian Sullivans Cove Single Malt Whisky. The Single Malt Whisky flavour that develops complexity with further ageing. As the cheese matures the result is a deep, full flavour that lingers.
