New at The Whisky Shop:
The Glenturret Range

With a delay in release pushed back to the later part of last year due to the pandemic, The Glenturret are here with their new core expressions making up their ‘2020 Maiden Release’, and we are happy to now stock them at The Whisky Shop!

The new-look bottle and packaging are embellished with The Glenturret crest which is inspired by the Murray family’s coat of arms; the family who founded the distillery and who have played a key role in The Glenturret over the past 250 years. Included in the lineup are a couple of limited edition releases in the form of a 25 Year Old limited to only 204 bottles, and 30 Year Old limited to 750 bottles, both presented in a beautiful wooden display box.

Set in the picturesque Perthshire countryside, The Glenturret¬†is somewhat controversially¬†labelled as Scotland’s oldest working distillery.¬†Production dates¬†back to an origin as early as¬†1775, with speculation by¬†some accounts of even earlier production on the site due to the unknown workings by smugglers linked to illicit stills. The whisky is still crafted the same way as it was over two centuries ago using the only remaining hand operated mash tun in Scotland, and operates on the benefit of the plentiful natural resources of the local area, with the water source flowing from¬†Ben Chonzie in the Grampian Mountain range down to nearby Loch Turret.
