White Peak Distillery celebrates 10 Year anniversary with limited-edition Caduro X – English Whisky News

White Peak Distillery celebrates 10 Year anniversary with

limited-edition Caduro X

Award-winning White Peak Distillery is marking its 10th anniversary this month with the launch of Wire Works Caduro X: a limited-edition single malt English whisky that reflects a decade of Derbyshire craftsmanship and dedication to flavour.

Founded in 2016 and based at the former Johnson & Nephew Wire Works in Ambergate, the distillery has built its reputation on a commitment to provenance, heritage and flavour. Caduro X has been created to mark this decade milestone, capturing both the distillery’s identity and the journey that has shaped it.

Inspired by Caduro from the Wire Works Provenance Core range, Caduro X is a vatting of first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and signature STR (shaved, toasted and re-charred) ex-red wine casks. This anniversary expression also incorporates both “regular-cuts” and “alt-cuts” single malts, with alternate distillation cut-points used to enhance the spirit’s brighter more tropical fruit-forward profile, alongside a subtle increase in peat influence.

To further deepen its complexity, the whisky has been proofed down to a bottling strength of 46.8% ABV using “special waters” – a technique involving the maturation of low-strength spirit in oak casks to extract additional water-soluble flavours and textures.

Only 1,000 bottles of Caduro X have been produced and will be released this month. The whisky is presented at natural colour and is non-chill filtered.

Claire Vaughan, co-founder of White Peak, says:

“Over the past ten years, we’ve taken a hands-on approach to learn more about how whisky develops its character – exploring every step from mashing & fermentation through distillation,  maturation and vatting. Caduro X marks a milestone, but moreover is the evolution of these ideas. We are a small team of whisky enthusiasts, constantly exploring, testing and refining in pursuit of flavour. This mindset is at the heart of The Wire Works – a place with a 150+ year history of making, where innovation and craft go hand in hand. What’s made the journey truly special, though, is the community around us. From the very beginning, we’ve been supported by an incredible group of people who’ve believed in what we’re building. We hope the next ten years continue in that same spirit – bringing people together, sharing what we make, and always striving to do it better.”

Wire Works Caduro X Single Malt English Whisky will be available from 25th April at the Distillery and online (and from select UK retail partners including The Whisky Exchange and The Whisky Shop) RRP: £75.

The GlenAllachie adds to Sherry Series with rare Palo Cortado matured single malt – Scotch Whisky News

The GlenAllachie adds to Sherry Series with rare Palo Cortado matured single malt

Building on the success of a trio of initial releases, The GlenAllachie has today, April 21, unveiled the fourth chapter in its celebrated Sherry Series: the new 11-year-old Palo Cortado Sherry Cask Matured Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

First launched in April 2024, the Sherry Series explores the influence different secondary Sherry cask maturations can have on whisky of the same cask history, with this latest expression finished in one of rarest and most intriguing styles of sherry – Palo Cortado – showcasing the distillery’s commitment to exceptional wood management.

This new 11-year-old expression enjoyed a period of secondary maturation in Palo Cortado sherry casks and delivers a beautifully layered flavour experience with notes of ripe plums, dark mocha and warming cinnamon spice, balanced with refined dryness and depth.

Originally born of a happy accident in the mid 19th Century and now revered by connoisseurs, Palo Cortado is the rarest and most enigmatic sherry style. It begins as a young Fino (the driest and palest sherry style) before being refortified to 17.5-18% ABV, which causes the protective flor yeast to dissipate and triggers oxidative aging.

This unique process gives it a signature balance – the flavour profile sits between Amontillado and  Oloroso, combining the aromatic finesse of the former with the structure, body and richness of the latter.

Master Distiller at The GlenAllachie, Billy Walker, commented:

“With the Sherry Series, we set out to create expressions that spark curiosity and invite deeper conversation. The extended secondary maturation allows the spectacular nuances and variations of each sherry style to reveal themselves completely, taking centre stage in a way that’s both bold and refined.

In this bottling, we have combined The GlenAllachie’s signature heather honey character with Palo Cortado’s deeply complex, sweet and nutty aromas – creating a whisky with a remarkable spectrum of flavour that has surpassed our expectations.”

Each cask in The Sherry Series begins its journey in the renowned sherry-producing region of Cádiz, where premium casks are sourced from the distillery’s trusted bodega partners before being transported to Speyside. Each expression is initially matured in American oak ex-Bourbon barrels before undergoing secondary maturation in a single, expertly selected sherry cask type, allowing the distinct characteristics of the wood to shine through.

Bottled at a robust 48% ABV, this latest expression is presented at natural colour and without chill filtration, ensuring the whisky retains its full character and complexity.

With this latest release, The GlenAllachie continues to push the boundaries of cask maturation, offering whisky enthusiasts a rare opportunity to experience the nuanced influence of Palo Cortado sherry on Speyside single malt.

The GlenAllachie 11-year-old Palo Cortado Sherry Cask Matured Single Malt Scotch Whisky release is available now from The GlenAllachie Distillery and online at  www.glenallachie.com with a UK RRP of £62.99. It will become available globally in the coming weeks.

About The GlenAllachie Distillery

One of Scotland’s few independently owned and managed distilleries, The GlenAllachie is led by industry veteran, Billy Walker, who boasts over a half-century’s tenure in whisky. With 16 on-site warehouses holding over 50,000 casks, The GlenAllachie Distillery have complete control of the end-to-end maturation process.

Since re-emerging under independent ownership in 2017, The GlenAllachie has made bold, strategic choices rooted in flavour integrity over volume. By fine-tuning fermentation practices, streamlining production, and investing heavily in cask management, the distillery has cultivated a house style renowned for depth, complexity, and individuality.

Beyond the stillhouse, The GlenAllachie’s influence continues to grow, with high-profile and innovative releases such as The Sinteis Series, and age-stated limited editions earning global acclaim. The distillery’s commitment to transparency – bottling at natural colour, non-chill filtered, and often at cask strength – underscores its dedication to the discerning whisky drinker.

Prioritising the production of quality spirit, the GlenAllachie Distillery chose to reduce its production capacity from four million to around one million litres of alcohol and increase its fermentation period to 160 hours – almost three times the industry standard – for an ester-rich, fruity spirit.

The GlenAllachie also maintains a strong focus on sustainability and provenance, with local sourcing and traditional methods guiding much of its ethos. Supported by the Scottish Industrial Energy Transformation Fund (SIETF), a state-of-the-art Mechanical Vapour Recompression (MVR) system was installed at the distillery to capture and recycle waste heat from distillation, using it to reheat the stills. The result is a distillery that not only honours Scotch whisky heritage but actively shapes its future.

ARDBEG FUSES SICILIAN SWEET WITH ISLAY PEAT FOR LIMITED-EDITION ARDBEG DAY RELEASE – Scotch Whisky News

ARDBEG FUSES SICILIAN SWEET WITH ISLAY PEAT FOR LIMITED-EDITION ARDBEG DAY RELEASE

< Whisky matured in Marsala dolce casks invites fans to experience the taste of la dolce vita… Islay-style >

Held annually on the final Saturday of Islay’s Festival of Music and Malt (Fèis Ìle), Ardbeg Day is a global celebration of all things Ardbeg. This year on Saturday 30th May, smoky malt lovers will embrace la dolce vita (the sweet life) Islay-style. At the Distillery and events worldwide, in tribute to Ardbeg Dolce fans will rekindle the glamour of 1960s Italian cinema with an Ardbeggian twist. This limited edition has a heart aged in Marsala dolce casks, for a dramatic fusion of Sicilian sweet and Islay peat.

Ardbeg Dolce combines rare malt matured in Marsala dolce casks (the sweetest style of Sicily’s fortified wine), with classic bourbon cask-matured Ardbeg. The whisky turns up the volume on Ardbeg’s “peaty paradox” – its trademark balance of sweetness and smoke. In Ardbeg Dolce, aromas of sun-ripened oranges and apricots set the scene. Flavours of dark chocolate star alongside olive groves, then cut to soft smoke and salted nuts.

On Ardbeg Day, the Distillery – and at Committee events around the world – will celebrate the whisky’s union of flavours by reimagining la dolce vita through an Ardbeggian lens. Drawing on the iconic style of Italian cinema in the 1960s, events will blend Mediterranean glamour with the rugged authenticity of Islay. Committee members and their friends will taste Italian delicacies with Islay hints, taste the limited edition, play retro games and dance to medleys of Mediterranean street music and Scottish folk.

Gillian Macdonald, Master Blender and Co-Chair of the Ardbeg Committee, said: “Uniting whisky matured in Marsala dolce casks and classic Ardbeg, Ardbeg Dolce is a dramatic blend of Mediterranean sweetness and Islay peat. Sweet notes of apricot, marmalade and dark chocolate rub shoulders with salty, smoky flavours and roasted nutty tones. Enjoy this limited edition in a Sicilian courtyard, on rain-drenched Scottish island or wherever you are. We think it’ll be an instant classic.”

Bryony McNiven, Distillery Manager and Committee Co-Chair, said: “For smoky malt lovers, life doesn’t get much sweeter than on Ardbeg Day. And this year, we’re celebrating the sweet life Islay-style. It’s time to dial up the 1960s spirit and enjoy ‘la dolce Islay’!”

Ardbeg Dolce will be available to buy worldwide from Ardbeg Embassies, whisky specialists, online retailers, and from the Distillery Visitor Centre.  Ardbeg Committee members will be given the opportunity to purchase the bottling on www.ardbeg.com on the 26th May, four days before its official release from 30th May, RRP: £85.

A splash of water reveals the deeper, earthier layers: roasted mushrooms, pine needles, salted fish, capers and olives. An Islay pantry meets a Sicilian garden.

Taste:           Spices lead the way in cinnamon, star anise and a flicker of liquorice heat. Then the sweetness unfolds with maple-smoked wood, baked dates with walnuts, honeycomb and dark chocolate. Dried fruits follow close behind, wrapped in lemon rind and balanced by a savoury twist of salted nuts and dried herbs.

Finish:           The finish is long and layered, with smoked applewood, drying tobacco, bonfire embers and rich, chewy peat oils.

RRP: £85/ €99

Ardbeg

Ardbeg prides itself on being The Ultimate Islay Malt Whisky. Established in 1815, Ardbeg is revered by connoisseurs around the world as the peatiest, smokiest and most complex of all the Islay malts. Despite its smokiness, Ardbeg is renowned for its delicious sweetness, a phenomenon that has affectionately become known as ‘the peaty paradox’. During the 1980s and 1990s, Ardbeg suffered from an uncertain future, and it was not until the brand was purchased by The Glenmorangie Company in 1997 that the Distillery was saved from extinction. Since then, the Distillery has risen like a phoenix and today Ardbeg is well-established as a niche, cult malt, with a passionate following. Today, Ardbeg is one of the world’s most highly awarded smoky single malt whiskies.

The Ardbeg Committee

Little Brown Dog Launches First-Ever Core Expression – Scotch Whisky News

Andrew Smith, Director and Co-Founder of Little Brown Dog

ABERDEENSHIRE WHISKY BOTTLER LITTLE BROWN DOG LAUNCHES FIRST CORE SINGLE MALT

Aberdeenshire, Scotland, April 2026; Independent Scotch whisky producer Little Brown Dog has announced the launch of its first-ever core expression whisky, Aberdeenshire Single Malt, marking what the company describes as its most important release in eight years of business.

Launching on 28th April 2026, the new whisky represents a major milestone for the Aberdeenshire-based business and a significant step in its continued growth from cult independent bottler to established name in modern Scotch whisky.

Distilled at Glen Garioch Distillery, just ten minutes from Little Brown Dog HQ, the whisky is a 12-year-old unpeated Highland single malt matured in a recipe of 60% first-fill bourbon barrels and 40% Oloroso and PX sherry casks.

Bottled at 46% ABV, natural colour and non-chill filtered, Batch One has been produced in hand-numbered runs of around 2,000 bottles – large by Little Brown Dog standards, yet intentionally small enough to celebrate subtle batch variation and character.

Created to reflect the character of Aberdeenshire – the company’s home – the new release has been years in the making, shaped by extensive research with UK retailers, distributors across nine international markets, and more than 200 consumers.

The launch follows the sell-out success of Little Brown Dog’s pre-production preview, with the first 500 bottles selling out almost immediately and generating strong demand from whisky drinkers and collectors alike.

Founded in 2018 by Andrew Smith and Chris Reid, Little Brown Dog is an independent bottler and micro distillery based in rural Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Built on a shared passion for flavour, transparency and craftsmanship, the company has earned a loyal following for its characterful single cask whiskies, small-batch releases and innovative spirits.

Andrew Smith, Director and Co-Founder of Little Brown Dog, said: “This is a huge moment for us and genuinely our most important release in eight years of business. We’ve taken our time because we wanted to create something that truly represents Aberdeenshire and everything we care about as whisky makers. It had to be honest, flavour-led and fairly priced – a whisky people would want to open, share and come back to.”

Unlike a one-off limited release, Aberdeenshire Single Malt has been created as a permanent core expression in the distinctive Little Brown Dog style – built on quality and flavour, while remaining approachable in price.

Designed as both a gateway to the brand’s sought-after single cask releases and an outstanding whisky in its own right, it offers consumers the chance to return for a second bottle, and more.

The launch also introduces a new visual identity for Little Brown Dog’s core range, inspired by the silhouette of Bennachie, the iconic hill visible from the gates of the company’s distillery and bonded warehouse. The design also includes personal touches such as Peedie – the real little brown dog – hidden within the barley fields, alongside the farm gate and an LBD cask.

A QR code on every bottle links consumers directly to an interactive page detailing the whisky-making process and full cask breakdown, continuing the brand’s commitment to transparency.

The release comes as Little Brown Dog enters a new chapter of growth, recently welcoming its first employee, Alex, who has officially joined the business after years supporting label design and now plays a key role across production, design and operations.

With Batch Two already prepared and Batch Three underway, Little Brown Dog is gearing up for strong demand as Aberdeenshire Single Malt reaches retailers, bars and whisky lovers across the UK and beyond.

A. Smith Bowman Distillery Announces New Rye Whiskey – American Whiskey News

A. SMITH BOWMAN DISTILLERY ADVANCES RYE WHISKEY EXPERIMENTATION WITH LATEST ABRAHAM BOWMAN LIMITED EDITION RELEASE

After 16 Years, A. Smith Bowman Distillery Reintroduces Rye Whiskey with a Focus on Extended Aging and Higher Proof

FREDERICKSBURG, VIRGINIA (April 27, 2026) – A. Smith Bowman Distillery, Virginia’s Oldest Continually Operating Distillery, today announces the newest release from the Abraham Bowman Limited Edition Collection: Abraham Bowman Special Release #26, an American rye whiskey that draws inspiration from the Distillery’s inaugural 2010 Abraham Bowman Limited Edition release. This latest expression reflects years of constant experimentation to better understand how variables such as mashbill, proof, and aging shape the character of rye whiskey.

Distilled in 2015, Abraham Bowman Special Release #26 explores two key elements of whiskey making: extended aging and elevated alcohol proof. While many rye whiskeys are aged for approximately 4-6 years, these barrels were aged for 11 years in the Distillery’s Warehouse A, which offers the coolest warehouse temperatures and allows for a slower aging process. Bottled at 110 proof, considerably higher than the original 90-proof Abraham Bowman Limited Edition #1 Rye Whiskey, it continues the Distillery’s exploration of how higher proofs influence flavor intensity, structure, and overall balance.

“Every Abraham Bowman Limited Edition release is an opportunity to ask new questions and explore new processes for making whiskey,” said A. Smith Bowman Distillery Master Distiller David Bock. “With this release, we wanted to continue our pursuit of the perfect rye mashbill. By allowing this whiskey to age for over a decade and bottling it at a higher proof, we were able to deepen our understanding of how these elements shape the character of a rye whiskey. The result is a whiskey that is both expressive and balanced, showcasing the complexity rye can offer.”

Known for its bold and distinctive character, rye grain often brings pronounced spice and intensity to a whiskey. While that profile has a well-established place in the category, A. Smith Bowman Distillery’s approach focuses on achieving a more balanced flavor profile. On the nose, this limited-edition rye whiskey opens with rich notes of maple syrup layered with hints of copper and fresh Spring aromatics. The palate unfolds with flavors of vanilla, apricot and bright orange zest, balanced by subtle earthy undertones. It finishes spice-forward, highlighted by black pepper and a delicate hint of mint for a clean, lingering close.

“We spent a lot of time tasting this at different proofs, and 110 is where it really came together,” said Bock. “With a higher proof you’re getting more intensity, but also more nuance. For a rye whiskey especially, this release is incredibly smooth, and the vanilla beautifully balances with the pepperiness.”

Abraham Bowman Special Release #26 Rye Whiskey will be available through an online lottery, which begins May 4 at noon EST and ends May 11 at noon EST. The lottery is open nationwide, but winners MUST be able to purchase bottles in-person at the A. Smith Bowman gift shop. To enter, please submit a form here. Limit one entry per person. Additional terms may apply. Abraham Bowman Special Release #26 Rye Whiskey will be available in limited quantities through Sazerac’s United States distributor network, which will ship to select retailers, bars and restaurants.

Winners will be randomly selected May 12 and notified by email immediately following the selection; bottles must be picked up between May 13 and May 31. Each 750ml bottling will be available through the A. Smith Bowman Gift Shop at a suggested retail price of $79.99 (local taxes and fees apply).  For more information, please visit www.asmithbowman.com.

Abraham Bowman Special Release #26 Rye Whiskey joins A. Smith Bowman Distillery’s growing portfolio of annual whiskey offerings, which saw the release of its fifth edition of Cask Strength Virginia Straight Bourbon Whiskey earlier this year. Additional bottlings currently available in the portfolio include Bowman Brothers Small Batch, Isaac Bowman Port Barrel Finished, and John J. Bowman Single Barrel.

About A. Smith Bowman

A. Smith Bowman’s distilling roots date back to the years before Prohibition when the Bowman family had a granary and dairy farm in Sunset Hills, Virginia. They used excess grain from the family estate to distill spirits. In 1934, after the Repeal of Prohibition, Abram Smith Bowman and his sons continued the family tradition and built a more modern distillery in Fairfax County, Virginia called Sunset Hills Farm.  The Distillery was moved in 1988 and is now nestled in Spotsylvania County near the city of Fredericksburg, 60 miles away from the original location.

As a small and privately owned company, A. Smith Bowman Distillery continues the time-honored traditions on which it was founded. Considered a micro-distillery by today’s standards, A. Smith Bowman produces an assortment of hand-crafted spirits distilled from only the finest natural ingredients and using the latest technology. This micro-distillery focuses on the production of premium spirits honoring the legacy of Virginia’s first settlers. Its various brands have won more than 100 awards in the past five years, including “World’s Best Bourbon” in 2016 for its Abraham Bowman Port Finished Bourbon and again in 2017 for its John J. The Macallan unveils Distil Your World Paris – Scotch Whisky New

The Macallan unveils Distil Your World Paris

The Macallan Single Malt Scotch Whisky journeys to the City of Light for the fifth edition in the acclaimed Distil Your World series: Distil Your World Paris, a love letter to the gastronomic artistry of the French capital.

The Macallan and the Roca brothers – owners of El Celler de Can Roca, twice named World’s Best Restaurant – unite to bring together the precision of whisky making with the artistry of haute cuisine, capturing the essence of Paris. Previous editions have explored New York, London, Mexico and Hong Kong.

This exceptional single malt – created by Master Whisky Maker Kirsteen Campbell – captures the essence of Paris through its flavours, aromas and cultural richness, drawing inspiration from the French capital’s elegance and epicurean artistry. It celebrates l’art de la table, the refined dining tradition that unites every element of gastronomy – ingredients, provenance, preparation, cooking, crockery, setting, ambiance, aromas, and flavours – each detail adding its own character.

A sensory portrait of Paris, this rare single malt encapsulates the soul of the city through flavour, drawing on notes of buttered pastries, brioche, sweet fruits and gentle spices. The whisky evokes the senses and aromas that define Parisian inspiration with local flavours – sandalwood, gentle spice, almond croissant, and peach melba – evoking the city’s patisseries, perfumeries, and poetic streetscape.

American sherry seasoned oak casks contribute a creamy sweetness and floral elegance, which is balanced with European sherry seasoned oak casks that add depth and structure, while ex-bourbon casks introduce tropical warmth and toasted notes. The addition of rare Cognac casks – unique to this release – deliver a final flourish of French refinement.

The whisky’s natural colour, Parisian Sunrise, was inspired by the first light seen from Montmartre, casting a golden hue over the city. This edition’s presentation box features “street yellow,” a nod to Paris’s iconic street lighting and its reputation as the City of Light.

The design of the inner artwork, created in collaboration with Paris-based artist Cassandre Montoriol, reflects the vibrant energy and timeless charm of Paris. Her expressive gouache illustrations depict a lively table d’hôte scene on a quintessential Parisian street, bathed in the warm glow of evening lights. The outer pack features a map tracing Kirsteen’s journey through the city, with key locations elevated in sculptural detail, creating a beautiful and dynamic image.

Kirsteen Campbell, Master Whisky Maker, The Macallan, said: The Macallan has always been rooted in storytelling, and every creation we craft carries its own. This Distil Your World edition feels especially meaningful to me because of the experiences, sights and emotions I brought back from Paris. In building its flavours, I layered new ideas over the signature character of The Macallan to create something familiar, yet a little unexpected. I took a piece of Paris home with me – and this release is my personal interpretation of that journey.”

Accompanying the whisky’s launch is a documentary film that captures an intimate and sensorial journey through the heart of Paris, exploring the origins of modern dining and the refined ritual of l’art de la table. Led by The Macallan’s Master Whisky Maker, Kirsteen Campbell, and Joan Roca of El Celler de Can Roca, the film follows their encounters with Parisian artisans, chefs, and cultural custodians, including renowned Chef Anne-Sophie Pic, Artisanal Baker Apollonia Poilâne, and menu collector Jérôme Dumant.

The documentary reveals how the spirit of Paris – its elegance, passion, and gastronomic heritage – was distilled into a singular whisky and a culinary experience. It is a celebration of craftsmanship, connection, and the timeless art of hosting, where every detail, from the table setting to the aromas in the glass, tells a story of place and tradition.

Johnnie Walker Red Soul – a sweeter, smoother Scotch crafted for a new generation of whisky drinkers – Scotch Whisky News

Johnnie Walker Red Soul – a sweeter, smoother Scotch crafted for a new generation of whisky drinkers

For the first time, Johnnie Walker Red Label is introducing a new global innovation: Johnnie Walker Red Soul.

With a sweeter, smoother take on the original icon, Johnnie Walker Red Soul is designed to offer a more accessible Scotch for non-whisky drinkers and will roll out globally from March.

Through a recommended signature serve of Johnnie Walker Red Soul and Lemonade with a pinch of sea salt and strawberry garnish, Red Soul invites consumers to take their first step into the whisky category.

The new innovation is underpinned by consumer insights around perceived taste barriers; over a quarter of non-Scotch whisky drinkers are open to the category but are seeking sweeter flavours (CCF 2023)1, reinforcing the need for an innovation adapted to evolving preferences without compromising on quality.

Johnnie Walker Red Soul also plays into Diageo’s ambition to strengthen its portfolio at an entry-level price-point, the largest and fastest-growing market segment in global blended Scotch whisky (IWSR forecast to 2029)2.

John Williams, Global Whiskey Director at Diageo, commented:

“One of the things that makes Johnnie Walker a global leader is our ability to offer choice at every price point and respond to the evolving needs of consumers, whether they are whisky lovers or totally new to the category.

“Red Label has been a market leader and global growth engine for over 35 years (IWSR 2025). It’s an icon of quality which has been recruiting new whisky drinkers – particularly females and younger audiences – yet, for some, it’s still not always considered a drink that feels easy and social.

“Johnnie Walker Red Soul shows another side to whisky – softer, a bit sweeter and perfect for mixing. We see it as a great choice for those looking for a quality spirit at a more affordable price point.”

Johnnie Walker Red Soul has been intentionally designed by Johnnie Walker Master Blender Emma Walker and her team of expert whisky makers to reimagine how and when Scotch can be enjoyed – bringing a new energy to the whisky category.

Vibrant Scotch Character

Johnnie Walker Red Soul is crafted around rich vanilla sweetness, unfolding into notes of caramel fudge and gentle oak before settling into a smooth, creamy finish. Bright, balanced and bursting with vibrance, it delivers a sweeter, smoother profile with no smoky notes.

Inspired by the pioneering spirit of Johnnie Walker, Red Soul reimagines the iconic boldness of Johnnie Walker Red Label with a contemporary twist. Drawing from the same unparalleled reserves of aging casks, it offers a softer, more versatile style designed for today’s social occasions.

Flavour That Holds Its Own

When Emma and her team approached the concept for Red Soul, versatility for new drinkers was at the forefront of their thinking. This is a Scotch whisky that holds its character in longer, lighter tasting serves and shines in simple combinations that elevate spontaneous late afternoon and early evening moments with friends.

It is the culmination of years of experimentation and curiosity that’s at the heart of everything Johnnie Walker does – always pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in whisky.

Compared to Johnnie Walker Red Label’s spicier, smokier, distillery-driven style, Red Soul highlights sweeter, smoother characteristics with no smoky notes, allowing maturation flavours to truly shine.

Made to be shared, this vibrant Scotch whisky comes to life in the signature Johnnie Walker Red Soul & Lemonade serve with a pinch of sea salt and strawberry garnish, where its balanced sweetness and softer oak flavours open up beautifully with lemonade, creating a vibrant drink that lets its distinctive Scotch whisky character shine through.

Emma Walker said: I really welcomed the opportunity to develop Johnnie Walker Red Soul. Johnnie Walker Red Label has always held a special place for me – I’ve long loved its bold, spicy energy and the way it brings vibrancy to any occasion. It’s a blend with real character.

With Red Soul, I wanted to explore a different expression of that spirit. We kept the lively, approachable core that defines Red Label, but chose to dial up the vibrant vanilla sweetness and smoothness, deliberately stepping away from smoky notes to create something brighter. It was a flavour profile designed to appeal to a younger audience who perhaps had not tried whisky previously.

“The result is a whisky that feels open and incredibly versatile – one that shines in simple serves and is perfectly suited to relaxed, spontaneous times with friends.”

Johnnie Walker Red Soul will initially be launched in markets across Europe and MENA with additional markets to follow. RRP is £25 GBP (prices may vary).

Teeling Whiskey, the pioneering Irish whiskey renowned for its innovation and commitment to quality, is proud to unveil the fourth bottling of “Rising Reserve”, our limited edition, super premium series of unique 21-Year-Old Irish Single Malts. This follows on from the highly successful previous editions, that are crafted to celebrate the true global Renaissance of Teeling, Dublin and Irish Whiskey. Each release embodies the spirit of innovation that has made Teeling a trailblazer in the industry, while respecting the time-honoured traditions that underpin the art of Irish whiskey-making.

The Rising Reserve is part of our range of award-winning Irish whiskeys, which have collected over 650 international awards over the last thirteen years including the triple titles of “World’s Best Single Malt”, “World’s Best Pot Still” and “World’s Best Single Grain” at the World Whiskies Awards making it the World’s Most Awarded Irish Whiskey*. The fourth bottling of the Rising Reserve Series consists of 21-Year-Old Single Malt that was aged initially in ex-Bourbon barrels for over 18 years before being finished in high quality ex-white wine casks, for a further 3 years. This dual maturation and in particular long finishing time in the white wine casks imparts notes of bright tropical fruits with white chocolate complimented by hints of honey and toasted barley. Limited to just 6,000 bottles, the resulting Single Malt is then bottled at 46% with no chill filtration, a signature of all Teeling Whiskeys.

Jack Teeling, Founder and Managing Director of Teeling Whiskey, commented;

“The Rising Reserve Series celebrates the storied journey of Irish whiskey, from its rich heritage to its bright future. Each release reflects our commitment to crafting whiskeys of exceptional quality and character, and this fourth bottling is no different. With 21 years of maturation in a combination of ex-Bourbon and ex-White Wine casks, it delivers a unique Irish Single Malt whiskey with a distinctive depth of character and flavour, continuing our mission to push the boundaries of what Irish whiskey can be.”
