Tobermory 2004 17 Year Old Oloroso Cask at Loch Fyne Whiskies – Scotch Whisky News

Tobermory 2004 17 Year Old Oloroso Cask

As anyone that’s seen the colourful seafront can attest to, Tobermory is a bonnie wee place! And here is a stunning release to match. Distilled and filled into oloroso sherry casks on the 8th of June 2004, this has been aged for 17 years, limited to 11,124 bottles, and free from chill filtration and colouring. Plenty of rich toffee notes alongside dark fruits, dried spice and rose petals. We know that the tasting experience is what counts with whiskies, but we are happy to be distracted by a bottle and case that looks as fetching as this! A vibrant whisky in a handsome presentation, what’s not to love?

Nose: full of caramel, toffee, and more intricate hints of almonds, blackcurrants and dried spice.

Palate: tropical fruit, Walnut Whip, cherry, creamy toffee, with oak, tannins, and rose petals.

Finish: atypically dry, nutty, with ginger spice.
