Whisky Lounge Newsletter – November 2015 – Whisky News

AA WL Nov 2015

We hope that you are battening down the hatches, readying yourself for that most auspicious of time – the UK winter. Here at TWL HQ we are already in our water-proofs, eyeing up the latest whiskies to try as the heating goes on…

Having completed our last whisky festival of the year, with our largest, Manchester Whisky Festival taking place last Saturday, we are now preparing for our final series of tastings. As always, we end the year with a bang and our much-vaunted (and copied) ‘Blind Islay Fury‘ tasting series. We’re also excited to be running the tasting in Scotland for the first time, and all being well we will be returning on a monthly basis in 2016.

We are also proud to announce next year’s London Whisky Weekender, with an outrageous early-bird ticket offer for you. Lots more to tell so please do read on…

AA Islay Blind

Our Whisky & Chocolate series was a delicious success and we will certainly be looking to run this again next year. However, it is now time to get serious. Seriously peaty. There are those that walk among us who are addicted to peat. You know who you are. Don’t be ashamed. Be proud. These tastings are for you.

We are also guilty of a fascination of peat, hence why we created this series many years ago – to celebrate peat and specifically whiskies from the ‘Whisky Isle’ of Islay.

These tastings are our most popular of the year so don’t hang about. Get booking and enjoy your peaty moment. Edinburgh-based peat-freaks can also now get involved!

AA WL London Weekender

We can’t believe it is 6 months since the 2nd edition of the Whisky Weekender in 2015.

However, we are always looking forward and we are now planning the next edition of the most vibrant whisky festival in London (and possibly the UK). The format will be almost the same as 2015, with a choice of sessions on the Saturday, one session on the Sunday and a new, exciting

development for the Friday night. To get things kick-started, we are offering you the chance to get a head-start on the hoi-palloi and get some early-bird tickets. You could even think about giving tickets as a gift for an upcoming seasonal celebration that shall remain nameless for now… This year we have decided to give you a stunning deal on the Saturday and Sunday sessions. The first 40 people to book onto each of these sessions will be able to take advantage of a 2 for £40 deal! The next 50 people will have a 2 for £50 deal to enjoy, whilst anyone booking once these have run out will have to pay the full price of £35 for the Saturday (each session) or £30 for the Sunday. The event takes place at The Oval Space in Hackney – check out there website HERE

SUN       3RD APRIL     12PM – 5PM

Ticket sales for next year’s Newcastle Festival have been extremely brusk. Sorry if you missed out on the Early-Birds but at £30 a ticket, it is still amazing value for what you get. Click HERE or on the banner to check out more details or to book.

Our Kavalan Vs Scotland series in September was a universal success with most venues sold out. The whiskies were widely seen as one of our finest line-ups and we certainly ensured Kavalan were up against quality representatives from the Scotch whisky industry. Joe has finished his report on the winners and losers and this can be read HERE.
