Is it becoming an Entertainment Industry?

Think about it … how many whisky tastings, whisky dinners, whisky festivals or masterclasses have you been to? Was it just a pretend pub with lots of people in drinking whisky?

Or was it entertaining? Was it more than just a whisky experience?

Even my old mate Charlie Maclean is theatrical, and he’s no the only one, Jim, Richard, and a mass of other people taking flamboyant sessions, think of some recent bottle labels, think of packaging… when is a whisky festival A WHISKY EVENT?

Paul & Liz were at the Victoria Whisky Festival Thu 17th, Fri 18th, Sat 19th and Sun 20th of January 2013 located on Victoria’s beautiful Inner Harbour. Pure entertainment in a glass.

MUSICAL ANGELS Tu-Bardh and Clanadonia friends of Paul’s. They do love an Ardbeg! Ardbeg was a sponsor for a while.

And then there is the multi-award-winning film The Angels’ Share. Producer Rebecca O’Brien has accused VisitScotland of “evasion, prevarication and a cop-out” by shunning the whisky heist caper while ploughing £7 million into Disney-Pixar film Brave. She said she felt “real fury” when she heard about the Brave deal after being turned down for help because The Angels’ Share had portrayed a “genuine” view of Scotland. Despite production company Sixteen Films and director Ken Loach not receiving any public funding, the film was feted by arts agency Creative Scotland at the Cannes Film Festival. It went on to win the prestigious jury prize at Cannes, two Scottish Baftas and two Creative Scotland awards.
