Jura Whisky Festival – Scotch Whisky News

As I write, the evenings are getting longer, the air warmer, and we’re starting preparations for the annual Jura Whisky Festival.

This year we have lots to celebrate. We’ve just heard that our 1976 Feith a Chaorainn malt was awarded a Double Gold at the San Francisco Spirit Awards. They’ve rated it the best whisky in the world! It’s a great achievement for us and we’re all very proud of our island distillery.

You may have also heard that our very first Diurachs Exclusive malt has been released. If you’ve received yours then I hope you’re enjoying it, and if you’ve still to get your hands on a bottle you’ll have to be quick as there are only a few bottles left. Speaking of new releases you can also take a look at the new 21 year old, that follows on from the success of the 200th year anniversary edition.

I know how much you all love visiting our distillery, so we’ve spent some time during winter to enhance the experience such that it’s ready for the summer season. As always you’re all very welcome to join us at the Festival to toast all of this great news. Have a gander at our Festival programme, but if you can’t make it across the water this year you can also follow the Festival events. We’ll be putting video highlights on the website, as well as a few ‘behind the scenes’ reports from yours truly.

So whether with us or from afar, I hope you enjoy this year’s Festival with a dram of the good stuff in hand.
